During the story conference of the new show Komiks presents Mars Ravelo’s Dragonna, ABS-CBN.com spoke with Shaina Magdayao about her feelings and preparations upon landing this project. “First time kong maging superhero. Nakakatuwa kasi isa na naman ito sa mga lead projects ko. Exciting rin na may mga fight scenes din.” Doing stunts and action scenes aren’t new to Shaina though for she had played ‘tough girl’ roles before in Rounin and in Lobo.
Komiks presents Mars Ravelo’s Dragonna will tell the story of a young lady who will discover that she has the blood of a dragon. Having the ability to create fire every time she would lose her temper, Dragonna will use her power to fight crime and protect the helpless. Amidst her heroic duties, she will find herself attracted to a guy, only to learn that she is bound to lose her gift once she falls in love.
Shaina will be working with Jake Cuenca again after their episode in Your Song Presents A Million Miles Away. The young actress said that she is happy to team up with the young actor in another project. “Nakakatuwa na may follow up. Sa previous project namin wala naman kaming inexpect pero masaya na naging maganda ‘yung feedback. Ngayon magkakasama uli kami sa Dragonna.” The cast of the show also includes Alessandra De Rossi, Bayani Agbayani, Long Mejia, Eda Nolan, and Carlos Agassi.
Shaina is now preparing not only to get into shape as a superhero but also in doing comedy, which is a big part of the story. “Pinaka-worry ko is ‘yung comedy. Sabi ko nga paiyakin niyo na lang ako kasi para sa akin mas madaling umiyak. Pero nung sinabi sa akin na makakasama ko sina Kuya Bayani (Agbayani) at Kuya Long (Mejia) natuwa na ako. Magiging magaan sila ka-eksena kasi beterano na sila sa comedy. At hindi ko lang naman project ang Dragonna, project naming lahat ito. Teamwork kami dito. Definitely gagawin namin ‘yung best namin para mapasaya ang mga tao especially ‘yung mga bata.”
